Other Events

Friday 03 May

On Friday evening, we will have an optional Historical Dinner Tour of the famed Georgetown neighborhood. This is an opportunity to learn about and explore the city and have a DC-centric dinner experience at the same time!  It will be a walking tour with food stops at Georgetown restaurants to create a three-course historic dinner experience which will last approx. 3 hours in total.

There are two options: three-course dinner and tour ($110), or three-course dinner and tour with beer/wine pairings included ($150).

Price is per person. We must have numbers in advance for this - we won't be able to take walk-ons at the last minute! You can register for this at the same time that you register for the conference.

Saturday 04 May

Join your fellow attendees at the Monuments by Moonlight tour on Saturday 04 May. This 2.5 hour bus/trolley tour will visit the beautifully lit iconic monuments of Washington DC. Register and pay directly with the Old Town Trolley Tour Company and meet with other DRBF members and their guests at the starting point (Union Station).

This is a no-host event. Availability dependent on the tour company capacity.

Dining Options

Looking for some excellent dining suggestions? While DC has numerous options for the "foodies" out there, here are a few recommendations:

The Dabney ($$$$) Michelin 1 Star - Upscaled American wood-fired cooking (.8 miles from the hotel, approximately 15-minute walk)

Le Diplomate ($$$) A DC Institution - An "homage to French cafe culture" built into a historic building on 14th Street. Best to make a reservation!

Unconventional Diner ($$) - Comfort food with a modern twist (.7 miles from the hotel, approximately 14-minute walk)

Rumi's Kitchen ($$) - Persian (.5 miles from hotel, approximately 10-minute walk)

Chercher ($$) - Ethiopian (.9 miles from hotel, approximately 17-minute walk)

Tiger Fork ($$) - Chinese (.9 miles from hotel, approximately 17-minute walk)

Oyamel Cocina Mexicana ($$) - Mexican (.2 miles from hotel, approximately 4-minute walk)

...and many more as recommended by Mr. John Cook which you can view here.
