WORKSHOP SERIES

The DRBF introduces a three-part virtual workshop series on preparation and use of Geotechnical Baseline Reports (GBRs) for Dispute Avoidance/ Resolution. GBR fundamentals will be presented as viewed from the Owner's, Contractor's, Engineers, and Adjudicator's perspectives. Audience discussion will be encouraged. See below for more details.

09 October 2024- Introductory (3 Hours)

Geotechnical Baseline Reports (GBRs) have become a standard approach for the allocation and management of risks associated with subsurface construction. GBRs are the first document Dispute Review Board (DRB) members will read when addressing a dispute.

The Introductory workshop will cover the following:

13 November 2024- Intermediate (3 Hours)

  • Owner Involvement During GBR Preparation
  • Importance of Risk Registers
  • GBR Outline - scope and length
  • Engagement of Legal Team During GBR Scoping and Content Development
  • Concept of a "Baseline,"" Including Relevance, Measurability, and Verifiability
  • Importance of Compatibility of GBR Among the Contract Documents

04 December 2024- Advanced (3 Hours)

Cancellation/Refund Policy

All registration cancellations and refund requests must be submitted one week prior to the start of your workshop by writing to [email protected]. A refund of the workshop registration, minus a $30 processing fee, will be given for cancellations received by that time. The DRBF regrets that refunds will not be given for no-shows. The DRBF recognizes that circumstances may arise, such as a medical emergency or unforeseen illness which cannot be anticipated. In these circumstances, refunds may be given beyond the cancellation date. Please submit any exceptions to [email protected].
